Arsalan Ahmed

About me

Arsalan was born in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. After completing his A-levels, he went on to pursue his undergraduate studies in Engineering at the University of Michigan,Ann Arbor. particularly fond of studying math and science as a kid, Arsalan graduated with a bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (Magna Cum Laude) and a minor in mathematics.

During his four years of college he built an interest in the field of Vibrations & Controls and has had numerous research opportunities during the course of his study. he hopes to pursue further studies in the near future. his research work includes engineering education project, cellular mechanics, noise analysis/reduction and MEMS. this led him to publish his scientific journal in the UM undergraduate research journal and also exhibit his work at the Mechanical Engineering Capstone & Manufacturing Experience. he has previously tutored math & engineering courses. he has also had the opportunity to participate in the Bay Area Business Idea Competition (something he plans on pursuing again in the future). arsalan has previously served on the board of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) UM chapter, Treasurer  & VP of the Muslim Engineering Students Association (MESA) and Design Competion Leader of the Tech Day event at Michigan College of Engineering.

 

Currently he is employed in the construction industry in Dubai, working as an Assistant  Manager for a 27+ year old aluminum trading & building supplies company called ALUTRADE. responsible for developing long term business strategies, keeping track of day-to-day finances and marketing company's products through Ad mediums like websites, public directories and catalogs
